The hamlet of Palau de Rialb consists of a few houses near the parish temple and several farmhouses scattered in the western center municipality of La Baronia de Rialb. Rather spacious (460m high), has on the south the stream valley of Torreblanca and Montmagastre term.
The place is elevated, and the possible reason, is that the Urgell Counts or Arnau Mir de Tost, the Viscount; that reconquered and fortified this area had a castle that originated the name of Palau.
Interesting places: Sta. Maria de Palau (s. XI).
