Project Description

Sant Ponç
de Martimà, s.XI

The chapel of Sant Ponç is right beside the road leading to the house Martimà. It is located higher up from the first fish farm, in front of the bridge that goes to El Puig, where we can find the diversion to Olivelles, Massanés and Martimà.
The place of Martimà is documented in a farmhouse donation of the Tarabau castle. According to this document, the farmhouse, located in the place of Santa Eulalia, faced with Martimà in the south. The chapel was from the family and we do not have evidence about any sufffragan parish.
The church from the eleventh century is a good example within the canons of Lombard architecture, simple but very well settled.
